2021 – A year without trade fairs?
In 2020, our most important trade fair appearances did not take place. The Corona pandemic was to blame, of course. For 2021, we had expected a return to normality. PLMA in Amsterdam traditionally in May and SPOGA at the new date in June. First the PLMA was postponed indefinitely, then came the info that the SPOGA would be moved from June to August. Since this week it is clear that the new PLMA date is in December. Will 2021 be a year without trade fairs for BOOMEX GmbH?
SPOGA 2021
The new scheduling of SPOGA with the earlier date in June suited us. We wanted to present our new products here again with a large stand in a natural look, which were actually supposed to be presented last year. All the plans for the trade fair construction and our appearance as a team were already in the drawer. After the development of the Corona figures, we can understand a cancellation of the SPOGA. However, we don’t think it makes sense to hold it two months later in August. On the one hand, it is questionable how much this short time will change or improve the general conditions for holding such a large and international fair, and on the other hand, a date during the summer holidays is anything but optimal. Our team is not available at full strength here and even under relaxed Corona conditions we expect many visitors to stay away because of the timing.
PLMA 2021
With PLMA attracting visitors and exhibitors from all over the world, it was just right to cancel the May date. Since yesterday evening, the alternative date is known. PLMA will take place on 15 and 16 December at the RAI exhibition centre in Amsterdam. There is still a long way to go until mid-December and we hope that the vaccinations will bring back a bit of normality. Amsterdam in Advent would also have its charm apart from the fair. We don’t give up hope for fair appearances in 2021.
Stay healthy and get through this time well.
